WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Tanganyika Wildlife Park announced Sunday that their beloved sloth, Chewie, has passed away.
“Chewie was an extraordinary ambassador for his species for nearly eight years. During his time here, he helped create tens of thousands of ‘wow’ moments, inspiring thousands of guests to care about rainforests, sloths, and the interconnected world we share,” Tanganyika said in the social media announcement.
Last month, the wildlife park announced the passing of another sloth, Oscar. He had developed severe anemia, which quickly led to complete organ failure. Tanganyika brought in veterinarians from across the country to help determine the cause.
