Storm Track 3 Forecast: A cool and quiet Sunday, temps rise through Christmas

Chilly to start this morning, but typical of late December.

A south wind will take over today, with the gustiest conditions in northwest Kansas.

Temperatures reach the upper 40s to low 50s in the afternoon with passing clouds remaining in our skies.

Overnight will be chilly, but we keep the south breeze going. A wave of low clouds moves into south-central Kansas by Monday morning, but are not expected to hang around long.

Monday features more sunshine and temperatures climbing across the region.

High pressure in the upper levels will drive our pattern through Christmas, and it looks warm!

Record temps are expected for Christmas, with highs well into the 70s for most.

Cooler air makes an attempt to move in by next weekend, but it may still be some time yet until we see any chance of moisture or truly cold air come back.
