WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Jake Dunne says it is a foggy start to our Christmas Eve, and your travel plans may be impacted until midday, especially along and east of a Hays to Pratt line. Later today as skies turn partly cloudy temperatures will top out in the middle to upper 60s.
Widespread fog is expected to return tonight and last into Thursday morning, and it could be especially dense over north central Kansas. As the fog slowly lifts temperatures will warm into the upper 60s and lower 70s. The forecast high in Wichita of 70 degrees would be a new record high for Christmas.
Friday and Saturday will remain warmer than normal with highs staying in the 60s and 70s. However, a cold front arriving on Saturday night will bring a reality check to the state. While there is no risk of rain or snow, temperatures will tumble into the 30s and 40s on Sunday, and the gusty winds will make it feel even cooler…
