More record highs, then winter fights back

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Just ahead of the next cold front, Kansas will have more record highs Friday and Saturday. Much of the state will bump up against 70 degrees before a front hits Sunday morning to bring winter back to the area.

Light winds and sunshine should be common Friday and Saturday, which will make for great travel weather. The record high in Wichita Friday is 69 and Saturday is 68, so both days could be historic in just how warm the temperature will get.

A strong front coming through Sunday morning will lead to falling temperatures and for western Kansas, a chance for some light snow. It will start in the morning and carryover to the afternoon, and it could lead to some slick areas along I-70. Accumulations for Kansas will be minimal, but it may be a tad higher in eastern Colorado where roads could get slick too…
