Record highs again today, much colder Sunday

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – We will get one more day with record high temperatures this afternoon, then it will turn much colder on Sunday with light snow possible for parts of western Kansas.

A mix of high clouds and some sunshine the rest of the afternoon. Highs will soar into the upper 60s to mid 70s, with record highs likely for many locations.

A strong cold front will move through the state Sunday morning. Expect falling temperatures throughout the day and strong north winds. Gusts may approach 45-55 mph. By the afternoon, wind chills will fall into the teens and 20s. Light snow and flurries will develop over northwest Kansas early Sunday morning and will gradually spread southeast across western and northern Kansas throughout the day. A trace to 1 inch of snow accumulation is possible, however most that see accumulations will pick up a dusting.

Cold weather will continue on Monday with highs mostly in the 30s across the state, however temperatures will warm up by Tuesday as highs return to the upper 40s to lower 50s…
