WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — As we head deeper into winter, temperatures will continue to fall. Two friends wanted to end the year by helping unhoused people keep warm.
Adriana and Chrissy were volunteering at a toy drive when they decided they wanted to do more. They created the Blanket and Warmth Drive to collect blankets, coats, gloves and anything else that can help warm up people experiencing homelessness.
“They need to be able to feel that someone cares about them, too. And that maybe something happened. Maybe they were out there homeless and somebody stole their jacket, or maybe they lost it, they put it down,” Adriana said. “We’re two women out here trying to serve for God and trying to give back.”

She says all donations will be handed out on New Year’s Eve. However, they will continue to accept donations and distribute as much as they receive. Adriana hopes that this becomes a monthly coat drive…
