Demolition of Wichita’s Wesley parking garage set to begin

Wesley Medical Center will begin an approximately two-year construction project to replace its aging public parking garage with a new and larger structure on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, with the demolition of the existing structure at Hillside and Murdock streets. New parking requirements for patient, visitors and colleagues will go into effect on Jan. 5.

In its place, a new, $65 million parking garage will offer a total of 1,359 parking spaces, plus 20 motorcycle-specific parking spaces – an increase of 466 parking spaces from the current garage. The construction project also will see the addition of a beautiful new atrium lobby and main hospital entrance that will provide easy access from both the parking garage and from its main entrance from Hillside Street.
