WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Police Department is reminding drivers to make safe choices and never drink and drive.
The department said that although Wichita is headed in the right direction — with nine DUI arrests on New Year’s Eve in 2023 and six the year after— they hope that number will eventually be zero.
“I can assure anyone because of the experience that I’ve had, and the conversations and incidents that I’ve worked, there’s no relative or friend that would regret being awakened in the middle of the night to pick up a friend vs. the other type of phone call you can potentially get,” WPD Captain Jason Stephens said.
