WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Kansas farmers are preparing for relief payments from a $12 billion federal aid package designed to help producers recover from tariff-related market disruptions. It’s relief giving them some hope amid and room to breathe amid long-term unknowns.

The Department of Agriculture recently announced payment rates for the one-time aid package announced by President Trump. The payments are calculated per acre and vary depending on the crop type.

“The crop prices have not been very good for the last year. There has been some market disruptions due to the tariffs,” said Sedgwick County farmer Kent Winter.
