Storm Track 3 Forecast: Climbing weekend temps, highs trend well above average

Temperatures ranged across the state today. Those locked under the cloud cover sat in the 30s and 40s, while those who saw more sun were able to climb into the 50s and 60s this afternoon.

Cloud cover is still blanketing most of the Sunflower State this evening. We have a few areas of light sprinkles that will fall apart in a few hours.

Lows tonight will dip back into the 20s and 30s with clouds breaking apart by daybreak tomorrow.

Areas of dense fog will develop early Saturday morning. Make sure to have your low beams on as you head out the door tomorrow morning, visibility will likely be impacted.

Highs on Saturday will climb with more sunshine and winds becoming southerly. Western Kansas will reach the 60s while central Kansas sees cooler temperatures in the 50s.

High pressure builds to our south, pulling warmer air into the Plains on southerly winds. Temperatures will gradually warm by the end of the weekend and the start of next week.

Temperatures soar with highs reaching into the 60s by the start of the workweek. We will be about 20 degrees warmer than the seasonal norm! Our next wave of energy will arrive on Thursday and push temperatures back towards our average.

This wave of energy will also fight to produce some moisture as it arrives. We are still ironing out the details of who could see rain and when.
