‘Not guilty’ plea entered for man accused in DUI crash that killed 3, including Wichita teacher

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A man charged in a June 11 triple-fatal DUI crash in Butler County waived his right to a preliminary hearing as attorneys entered a “not guilty” plea on his behalf. A jury trial in the case against Tyler Beauclaire is tentatively set for March 10.

Beauclaire is accused of crashing into a truck, killing Eliot “Britton” Eichbauer, a Wichita teacher, his 19-year-old son, Arlo, and his 16-year-old nephew, Silas Eichbauer.

Eichbauer was a social studies teacher at Curtis Middle School. Silas Eichbauer, was a student at Wichita North High School.

Beauclaire, from Louisiana, was arrested in Indiana on July 9. Returned to Kansas, charges against the 24-year-old included three counts of second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery while driving under the influence…
