A fatal pedestrian accident was reported Monday evening in east Wichita, resulting in the death of an adult male.
Authorities confirmed the incident occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. near the intersection of 21st Street and Woodlawn Avenue.
Police Response And Initial Findings
Officers from the Wichita Police Department arrived at the scene and found a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The victim, believed to be in his 50s or 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
Driver Cooperation And Investigation Status
Police stated that the driver remained at the location and is fully cooperating with investigators. According to WPD Sergeant Jordan Edison, there is no indication of impairment at this stage of the investigation.
Officers are actively canvassing nearby areas and reviewing surveillance video to better understand the circumstances leading up to the crash.
