Wichita to get $20 million for Broadway improvements

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita will be receiving $20 million to improve safety along the Broadway Avenue corridor.

Sen. Roger Marshall announced the funding on Friday.

It’s coming from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All program. The $20 million grant will be used to improve road safety along Broadway from 37th Street North to Pawnee Street.

Data from the Wichita Police Department provided to KSN News show there have been an average of over 1,100 crashes along that stretch of Broadway each year between 2018 and 2025.
