WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Kansas nurse says what she describes as a clerical error during license renewal has derailed her career after the state nursing board investigated her for working without a valid license.
Ana Ahrens, who helped patients with addiction and mental health problems, had her career halted in 2025 when the Kansas State Board of Nursing investigated her for working while her Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license had lapsed. Ahrens said she didn’t know the license had expired.
