Wichita, Kansas – A late-evening shooting in southeast Wichita on Thursday unfolded after an armed home invasion, according to police. Investigators say the man who was shot was one of the robbery suspects and is now recovering in the hospital under police custody.

Authorities say a 21-year-old woman was inside her home when three armed individuals forcibly entered, kicking in the door and committing a robbery. Police report that while the robbery was in progress, the woman’s boyfriend arrived at the residence with a friend. As they approached, one of the suspects exited through the front door and allegedly pointed a firearm at the boyfriend, ordering him to get on the ground.
