WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Storm Team 12 Weather Alert continues for Friday and Saturday with snow and dangerously low wind chills on the way. Snow will begin Friday afternoon and continue through Saturday evening, leaving behind several inches across Kansas. The higher totals will focus along and south of a line from Dodge City to Great Bend over to Emporia. If you have travel plans, you might consider an alternative since many roads will be snowpacked and slick.
Thursday turns a bit chillier with highs in the 40s, but Arctic air comes barging in for Friday with highs in the single digits and teens. Snow should begin in western Kansas late Friday morning and then move east into the afternoon.
It could snow most of the day on Saturday, with a brief break early in the afternoon. Snowfall amounts of 8-12 inches look possible over south central Kansas, with central Kansas getting 6-8, and lighter amounts in the far west…
