WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita Public Schools is evaluating potential school closures as a winter storm approaches Kansas, with Storm Team 12 forecasting 8 to 12 inches of snow in Wichita starting Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.
The district considers multiple factors when deciding whether to cancel or delay classes, said Fabian Armendariz, division director of logistics for Wichita Public Schools. Those factors include student safety, forecasts, wind chill, current road conditions and building conditions.
