The Voices of Many: North High’s Walkout

Due to recent events involving ICE, emotions and tensions have been elevated and that’s shown no better than at Wichita North High school. Thursday around 2-3 pm students left class to begin a walkout against ICE.

Students showed up in front of the school with signs and passion for change. As Ms. Sanchez, the Halo teacher states, “You can’t see political change without the fire in the students.”

The students were the ones outside, but support was also seen on the inside. Principal Kristina Murray appreciates students with passion for a cause they support. She is not the only one that supported the students as Ms. Grant the AVID coordinator alongside the girls’ basketball coach stated, “It’s beautiful to see the youth speaking not only for themselves but for the generations that come before them too.”…
