WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – After we get past another unusually cold morning, it will be a warmer Wednesday afternoon across Kansas. While the snowpack keeps the Wichita area in the middle 30s, western Kansas will soar into the 40s and 50s where little to no snow is on the ground.
Arctic air will ooze back into the state tonight and Thursday. Highs in the 20s tomorrow and Friday will be followed by afternoon temperatures in the teens on Saturday. The mornings will be even colder, especially Saturday when temperatures near zero feel like ten to fifteen degrees below zero making frostbite possible, on exposed skin, in 30 to 45 minutes.
A few flurries are possible tomorrow across all of Kansas and additional snow showers are expected on Friday, mainly along and west of I-135. However, this event will not compare to the previous one. Any accumulation will be minimal, and widespread travel troubles are unlikely…
