WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Work continues on the Sunflower Rod and Custom Association drag strip in Great Bend.
On Friday, the City of Great Bend shared images and a video showing how work has been progressing at the track.
The SRCA Dragstrip, home of the first NHRA National, has served as a hub for bracket racing for decades, starting in April 1955. The area was previously a B29 Army Air Force Base until it was sold to the city in 1946 after World War II.
