WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita State University announced Monday that it received a $2.5 million grant to start a new paid internship program.
The program is called Wichita HIREs, which stands for Humanities Internships Reward Employers. The initiative aims to expand learning opportunities for students pursuing humanities degrees.
According to Wichita State, more than 12,000 students work in paid positions each academic year. But students studying humanities account for just 0.5% of those opportunities…
