Roofer fined over $500K for ‘deceptive acts’ in Sedgwick County

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office confirmed a $510,755.40 default judgment against a Wichita area roofing company and its owner “for unconscionable and deceptive acts under the Kansas Consumer Protection Act.”

The DA’s Consumer Protection Division investigated after receiving complaints against Flint Hills Roofing Co. LLC and its owner, Tyler Sims.

The DA’s Office said that Sims and Flint Hills Roofing are accused of committing 28 violations of the Kansas Consumer Protection Act. These violations included failing to pull permits, skipping inspections and failing to finish contracted projects…
