WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Kansas police department hopes someone saw something that will help them find whoever is responsible for the theft of about 60 Vietnam veteran flag holders.
It happened at the Hesston City Cemetery. Police said the flag holders were stolen over the course of the winter.

The Veterans Memorial Committee discovered the theft and reported it to the police.
Police Chief Chris Eilert told KSN that he believes the flag holders have likely been sold as scrap metal. Eilert is asking community members to report anything they might know, including if they have seen anyone with one of the items.
The Hesston Parks Department said each flag holder costs about $76, or roughly $4,560 for all 60. It has checked with scrap yards in the area, but so far, hasn’t recovered any of the items…
