WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita City Council approved money for improvements for Webb Road.
The decision comes after several crashes near Wichita Collegiate High School have some worried about the safety of students and pedestrians.
“We have had four accidents, serious car accidents with parents, faculty, staff, students since August,” said Becky Tuttle, Wichita City Council District 2.
Planned improvements
The improvements include widening Webb Road to five lanes in some areas. This would allow for a lane that can turn directly into Collegiate’s campus, adding sidewalks to both sides of this stretch of Webb, adding a signal crossing at Minneha Elementary School and a traffic light at Collegiate High School…
