Showers & storms show up tonight across Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a relatively mild morning across Kansas with wake-up temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Later today will be as warm, if not warmer than Thursday with highs in the middle to upper 60s despite increasing clouds.

A dry morning will give way to an area of showers and storms this afternoon/evening, mainly along and south of Highway 400. While nothing severe is expected, some pockets of heavy rain are possible. A second round of light to moderate rain will move across Kansas tonight and Saturday, ending from west to east during the afternoon. Most of the state will see between .10” and .50” of rainfall, though areas along and east of the turnpike will see up to an inch of rain.

The remainder of the weekend looks dry and much warmer. Highs in the lower to middle 50s on Valentine’s Day will be replaced with middle to upper 60s on Sunday underneath mostly sunny skies…
