LINDSBORG — Wichita fiber artist Lisa Riley is the artist-in-residence at the Red Barn Studio Museum.
She will be at the museum Feb. 14-26, according to a community announcement.
Riley will focus on creating clothing and accessories from handwoven fabrics made on her rigid heddle loom. She uses folkwear patterns as a starting point, adapting them into her own designs and combining machine sewing with hand techniques. She incorporates fabrics dyed with Japanese Bengala mud dyes and explores eco-conscious approaches by reworking discarded clothing into new garments or functional work, according to the announcement…
