Wichita police investigate standoff involving a firearm and two young children

Wichita police are investigating after a domestic disturbance involving a gun and two young children triggered a standoff overnight at a south Wichita home.

The standoff started Sunday evening and ended peacefully early Monday morning. No arrests have been made, and no one was injured, public information officer Kristopher Gupilan said.

The standoff began after police were dispatched to a disturbance with a weapon call around 9:45 p.m. Sunday evening in the 1900 block of E. 47th St. S. The 911-caller, a 45-year-old man, reported that a neighboring 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were involved in altercation and the 25-year-old was armed, Gupilan said…
