WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Police Department hosted a groundbreaking for its new Patrol West bureau on Wednesday afternoon.
The station will be located on the northeast corner of Wichita Northwest High School.
Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan says he hopes the partnership with Wichita Public Schools will give students the chance to learn about careers with the department.
“Not just to be a police officer, but there’s so many different roles within our department, and we want to hire people from Wichita, and we want this to be a pathway into the police department, so this is a perfect place to put this police station,” Sullivan said…
