Bill aimed at modernizing tag office fails to advance in Kansas Senate

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A bill aimed at modernizing the tag office died in a Senate committee.

Those from Sedgwick County spoke in favor of the bill. It would have staggered the renewal periods for personalized plates instead of requiring them to be renewed in years ending in 0 or 5.

The Sedgwick County tag office saw over 500-percent surge in traffic due to this. The bill would have also allowed counties to increase fees charged at tag offices…
