WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita nurses took to the streets Thursday afternoon to protest workplace violence in hospitals.
Shelly Raider, an emergency room nurse at Via Christi St. Francis, said she even had to press charges on someone who assaulted her on the job.
Raider said workplace violence is becoming far too common.
“I don’t know how many knives, guns, weapons that we have removed from people,” she said. “I, as a nurse, am not security; I should not have to be dealing with that and be the one watching for that.”…
