WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a much colder morning across Kansas with wake-up temperatures in the teens and lower 20s, and wind chills mostly in the single digits. Later today will follow suit with highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s, or ten degrees below normal.
A fast moving and relatively weak storm system will race across the state this afternoon and evening. Mixed rain and snow showers will transition into all snow showers by sunset, and while widespread travel troubles are unlikely, a few slick spots are possible. Most areas will see an inch, or less of accumulation.
Quiet and cooler than normal conditions are expected this weekend. Morning temperatures in the teens and 20s will climb into the 40s during the afternoon with light winds and mostly sunny skies…
