1 dead following grain bin accident south of Newton

NEWTON, Kan. (KWCH) – A grain bin accident south of Newton on Saturday left one person dead and two others injured.

Harvey County confirmed that emergency crews were called to the 2100 block of south Spencer Road at 2:30 p.m. This is just south of Newton.

Three men were working to level and empty soybeans inside a large grain bin. The contents suddenly shifted, trapping one of the men. He died at the scene. His identity has not been announced yet so that the family can be notified…
