Strong storms for some tonight

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is another cool and gray morning across Kansas with areas of fog and drizzle. However, wake-up temperatures are in the upper 30s and 40s, so area roads are wet and not icy. Later today will be milder than Monday as temperatures top out in the lower to middle 50s

As a bubble of warmer air moves into the southeast corner of the state, showers and storms are possible, if not likely tonight. While some of the storms may be strong, producing small hail and heavy rainfall, widespread severe weather is not expected. The best chance of storms is along and south of a Medicine Lodge to Marion line, and mainly after midnight.

After a dry and warmer Thursday with highs in the 60s and 70s, yet another storm system will move across Kansas on Thursday night and Friday. This weather maker will have both warmer air and extra energy to work with, which means some of the storms may be strong, if not severe with heavy rainfall.
