Kansas Weather Alert: Wichita, Dodge City Could Hit 85°F as Spring Heat Surges March 18–22

Wichita, Kansas – Temperatures could surge into the mid-80s by Thursday afternoon in Wichita, bringing an early taste of summer to Kansas as a large warm air mass expands from the western United States into the central Plains during the first full days of spring.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the pattern expected Wednesday through Sunday, March 18–22, strongly favors above-normal temperatures across the central United States, including much of Kansas. Highs across the state may run 15 to 25 degrees above typical mid-March levels
