Enjoy a nice start to the weekend. We will have fair skies the rest of the day and high temperatures will reach the 60s and 70s.
Winds will not be as strong today but there will still be a breeze. Even though fire danger is not as high today we still need to be mindful of the warm, breezy, and dry conditions.
Weekend changes will be in the form of rising and falling temperatures, a chance for moisture, and high winds.
High temperatures will be even warmer tomorrow and with the area remaining dry with a strong breeze, Fire Weather Warnings have been issued for Saturday and a Fire Weather Watch has been issued for Sunday.
Some moisture will start to move in late Saturday night and continue through Sunday. At first rain will be possible but as a cold front drops temperatures we will gradually see snow mix with rain through Sunday. There could be more snow than rain to the north. Due to warm ground temperatures, any snow that is able to accumulate should be less than one inch. Wintry and wet weather moves out by Sunday night.
In addition to some moisture, the next cold front will also bring strong winds into the Sunflower State Sunday. Wind Alerts have started to be issued due to wind gusts widespread wind gusts as high as 50 to 65 mph. Driving high profile vehicles will be difficult and power outages will be possible due to the high winds.
Winds will not be as strong by Monday but we will still have some breezy days next week. After a chilly start to the new week, temperatures will warm back up into the 80s by the end of the week.
