Kansas veteran applies military training to role as first responder

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — After retiring from the Army, one Kansas veteran continues to serve his country in a new career as a first responder.

El Dorado’s Joshua Clemons knew he was destined to be a police officer at a young age, but his early career plans changed.

“After living through Sept. 11 and watching that on the news when I was 11-years-old, that kind of got my spark going to serve my country,” Clemons said.

Patriotism and following in his family’s footsteps inspired Clemons to not only serve in the Army in 2010, but also train to be a paratrooper…
