WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Kansas Department of Transportation has closed northbound I-135 at 21st Street in Wichita following a train derailment that damaged the bridge carrying I-135 over the railyard.
KDOT bridge inspectors are on site assessing damage to the structure. Two columns supporting the bridge have been damaged and the bridge is closed for traffic. Crews are working to secure supports and railcars involved in the derailment are being cleared from the area. Once the bridge is secure and railcars are removed KDOT will evaluate next steps…
