Radar being used to find unmarked grave of a Wichita founder

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Work was underway on Tuesday in Wichita’s Highland Cemetery to uncover new secrets, including the unmarked grave of a man who helped build Wichita.

Friends of the Wichita Pioneers, a local nonprofit, is using a special tool to find answers buried in the cemetery.

They’re using ground-penetrating radar. It is this tool that sends signals deep into the ground and reads what comes back. That signal changes depending on what’s buried below, helping researchers spot areas that don’t match the natural soil…
