Strong storms a safe bet this afternoon

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Jake Dunne says another cold front will race across Kansas today leading to our next round of storms. The best chance will be along and east of the turnpike between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. While the Wichita area may see some small hail and gusty winds as the storms get started, the better bet for severe weather will be to our east in places like El Dorado and Eureka.

Get ready for a cooler, but otherwise nice holiday weekend. Highs in the lower to middle 60s on Saturday will be followed by frosty temperatures in the middle 30s on Sunday morning. However, Easter afternoon looks excellent with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s underneath bright blue skies.

After we warm into the 70s on Monday, temperatures will trend down a tad, into the 60s on Tuesday as a weak cold front moves through the area. Highs rebound into the 70s on Wednesday and remain there on Thursday and Friday…
