The Tulane baseball team (17-16, 4-5 American) won the final contest of the three-game conference series over Wichita State (21-12, 5-4 American) by an 8-1 margin on Saturday, April 4, to take the road set at Eck Stadium.
J.D. Rodriguez (4-0) started for Tulane was brilliant in going 6.1 innings with just four hits plus one run allowed with four strikeouts. Jack Brafa was the first man out of the bullpen. He threw two full innings with one strikeout. Sam Larson closed the game out inducing a foul pop out and ground out to end the contest.
Jason Wachs led the charge for the offense with three hits, two runs, and two RBIs. His three hits were a pair of doubles and a home run. Matthias Haas also recorded three hits and scored two runs.
