Wichita museum looking for donations to restore historic train car

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Great Plains Transportation Museum is converting an old baggage car into an event space to raise money for their museum, which they say will help keep railroading history alive.

“Wichita wouldn’t be where it is without rail, it was just a sleepy town until they brought rail down here from Newton and then it took off and it ended up being the largest city in Kansas,” said Lon Smith, Director of the Great Plains Transportation Museum.
