WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Rose Hill Road, also known as Butler County Road, closed for construction on Monday. The project will begin with the installation of two large concrete box culverts located south of SW 16th Street.
A single northbound lane of through traffic will be provided on SW Butler Road north of SW 160th Street while work starts on the east side. During this phase, several crossroad storm sewer pipes may be installed one lane at a time.
Temporary mailbox locations
Temporary mailboxes will be installed for the duration of the project. Residents between 1500 and 1950 N. Rose Hill Road will have mailboxes in a cluster on Rosewood Street. Residents between 2100 N. Rose Hill Road and Sienna Drive will have mailboxes in a cluster on the west side of the road immediately south of the roundabout.
Existing mailboxes and mailbox supports will be removed and reinstalled at locations directed by the local post office upon completion of the project.
Existing mailboxes and mailbox supports that do not comply with U.S. Post Office requirements or county policy will not be reinstalled. A standard compliant mailbox support will be installed instead.
Construction phases
The next phase will be construction work on the east half of the road, providing one lane of northbound traffic through the whole project. After that, construction work will switch to the west side of the road…
