BEL AIRE, Kan. (KWCH) – The City of Bel Aire announced on Tuesday that Woodlawn Boulevard will be reconstructed between 37th Street and 45th Street.
The project is scheduled to start on April 20, with an expected completion in summer of 2027. City officials say the construction will take place in four phases.
- Phase 1: Quail Ridge Street to Rodeo Street
- Estimated duration of two months
- Traffic from Quail Ridge will detour south
- Traffic from Rodeo will detour north
- Phase 2: Rodeo Street to Woodlawn Court
- Estimated duration of five months
- Perryton and Odessa access to Woodlawn will be closed
- Traffic from Rodeo will detour south
- Traffic from Woodlawn Court will detour north
- Phase 3: Woodlawn Court to 45th Street
- Estimated duration of five months
- Danbury and 44th Street access to Woodlawn will be closed
- Traffic from the north will detour using 45th Street
- Traffic from Woodlawn Court will detour south
- Phase 4: Quail Ridge Street to 37th Street
- Estimated duration of two months
- Intermittent lane closures with flaggers are anticipated
- Will not require full roadway closures
In phases one through three, each segment of the road that is under construction will be fully closed to traffic, and detours will be necessary.
