WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Great Plains Nature Center hosted its Grow Together event Saturday, giving children of all abilities and their families a chance to learn about resources that support early learning and development in an inclusive environment.
The event included free food, games, sensory activities and other hands-on experiences. Organizers said the nature center provided an ideal setting for families to learn and connect.
“Nature is its own playground. The nature center is so much fun for that,” organizer Darah Jewell said. “Also when you’re getting things like Parents as Teachers together, Rainbow United together, we’re learning how to teach that in different ways so that everyone can understand it.”…
