Pet killed in S. Wichita house fire

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – One dog died and another was injured in a south Wichita house fire reported about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of West 35th Street South, in a neighborhood northeast of Interstate 235 and South Seneca.

At the scene, 12 News spoke with the homeowner, who also received treatment from first responders after attempting to rescue his pets. The homeowner said he’d returned home from taking his child to school and that when he opened the door, the house was filled with smoke…
