Woman charged in Wichita hit-and-run that killed pedestrian

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A 26-year-old woman made her first court appearance on Friday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in west Wichita last week.

Shardea Lawyer is charged with failure to stop at an accident resulting in death in the crash that killed 38-year-old Kristina Kramer Rogers.

According to the Wichita Police Department, around 11:30 p.m. on May 8, officers were dispatched to the area of Taft Avenue and Leonine Road to investigate after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.
