WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita police officers and families gathered outside City Hall for the city’s annual law enforcement memorial ceremony, honoring officers who died in the line of duty.
Family members of fallen officers brought photos of their loved ones as officers spoke, offered condolences and placed a commemorative wreath at the law enforcement memorial statue at City Hall.
“And that’s why we do it. It’s for the families,” said Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter. “It helps us as well, don’t get me wrong, but the real reason we do this is to honor those families for the sacrifice that their loved one made.”…
