As Delaware and its partner Enstructure continue to pursue an expansion of the Port of Wilmington to Edgemoor, some people and groups in the community want to address more questions about the project’s economic viability, job potential, and environmental impact.
According to the Diamond State Port Corporation recently, Phase One of the Delaware Container Terminal is expected to be completed in 2028.
“I’m tired of talking about it. I’m eager to see a shovel in the ground,” Governor Matt Meyer said on June 3rd when he was asked about the project during a media availability. As financing comes together to move the expansion forward, Meyer said one-time money would be matched by private investors.
“Just look at the financial return in terms of tax revenue for future growth of the port that’s going to come into the state, it’s a great deal,” Meyer said…
