ELKTON — Darrian Lynnelle Randle acted alone when she beat her 3-year-old daughter, Nola Dinkins, to death in June 2025 inside a North East-area residence, stuffed the toddler’s plastic-wrapped body into a suitcase and discarded it in a trash can — before falsely reporting to police that an armed man with a female accomplice abducted the child.
Cecil County Senior Assistant Public Defender Jason Ricke made that assertion to jurors Wednesday during the defense’s opening statement at the outset of the accessory-after-the-fact-of-murder trial for 45-year-old Cedrick Antoine Britten, who is Randle’s co-defendant and ex-boyfriend.
“There is no evidence that he even knew. He, like everybody else, was trying to figure it out,” Ricke said, before telling jurors, “You are going to be shocked by the lies that Darrian Randle told. He was sucked into her web of lies.”…
