Arden Fair celebrates a community built around art, fellowship and tradition

The 118th annual fair brings crafts, music, books and family activities to a village where the arts — from Gild Hall to Candlelight Theatre — remain part of everyday community life.

ARDEN, Del. — For one day each Labor Day weekend, the wooded lanes and community spaces of Arden become one of Delaware’s largest celebrations of handmade art, live music and village life.

The 118th Arden Fair and Antiques Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, throughout the historic community in northern New Castle County.  Admission is free.

Visitors will find more than 100 craft vendors, an antiques market, a used-book sale, an art exhibit, a plant sale, children’s activities, food and live music. But the fair offers more than a collection of attractions. It provides visitors with a glimpse of a community that has treated art, nature and civic participation as essential parts of life for more than a century…
